Families of students with autism will have a chance to talk with a top federal official at 5:30 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s College in West Hartford.
U.S. Assistant Education Secretary Alexa Posny will meet with families and government policymakers to discuss best practices and funding for educating students with autism.
Posny, assistant secretary for the office of special education and rehabilitative services, will start the discussion by sharing the department’s initiatives to support research and best practices in autism.
The Connecticut Chapter of Autism Speaks and U.S. Rep John Larson are hosting the event, in the Crystal Room, Mercy Hall at St. Joseph’s College, 1678 Asylum Ave
