Are you looking for a fun activity to do with the kids? Or, are you looking for a fantastic homemade gift that grandparents simply cannot resist? If so, I have just the thing for you…fingerprint tiles!
Kiddlywinks, a boutique toy store located in Longmeadow, MA and Canton, CT will be hosting a fingerprint memory day on Wednesday, December 7th at the Canton location, from 10AM-5PM. Children will be able to create a unique fingerprint design on a tile to give to a loved one. Appointments take about fifteen minutes and the cost is $4 per child. My daughters love watching the artists turn their fingerprints into snowmen, reindeer, snowflakes…etc. The names and ages are great to include on gifts for grandparents. My Mom has a growing collection and looks forward to a new one each year.
If you do not have time to make it to Kiddlywinks, and frankly, most working Moms don’t, you can make these adorable tiles at home. All you need are some plain white ceramic tiles, acrylic markers, finger paints, and precious little fingers. Once you have designed the tiles and they have thoroughly dried, bake them in the oven for about twenty minutes on 300 (this helps set the paint and keeps them from smudging).
