Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am THISCLOSE to being featured on an episode of Hoarders.

OK, not really, but we have a serious clutter problem in our house and I’m finally admitting to you all that I just do not have the answer. I have searched my beloved Pinterest and read four thousand articles, but I just can’t seem to get it together.

We live in what we thought was a perfectly spacious house until two teeny girls came into our lives and just took over the joint. Now, it’s positively packed. Mostly with kid stuff: exersaucer, toy bins, grocery carts, high chairs, baby doll carriages, kitchens, puzzles, princess dresses, trucks and millions of crayons, stickers and blocks.

Oh, and you know, CHILDREN. We’ve already removed both of our coffee tables in our living and family rooms to create more space for them and their stuff (that we buy, so I can’t really blame them, now can I?) We don’t have a playroom, so our general living spaces have to double as play spaces. Our dining room also has a play kitchen and a little table and chairs set in additional to our real table and chairs.

I can’t be alone in this, can I? Some of you are also drowning in clutter. Right? Please?! It’s not even just the kids. I feel like we just don’t have enough storage space. Our basement is full, our garage is full (and not with cars, much to my husband’s dismay), our shed is full and my car keys are in there SOMEWHERE. And don’t even get me started on my cell phone. I almost never know where it is.

So, what I’m looking for here is advice (or commiseration) from you. It’s time for spring cleaning. What do YOU do to stay on top of clutter? Do you follow a schedule?

Most of the time I feel like I’ve won the day if the kitchen sink is clear at the end of the day. Sigh. Nope, my keys weren’t in there, either.
