So I know Easter has come and gone already, but now that the weather is getting warmer, this is a pretty cool activity for any night of the week and gets the kids outside and running around!
My sister pinned something similar to this before Easter and my kids had a blast finding the eggs!
(By the way, are you following us on Pinterest?)
Here’s what you need:
- Plastic Easter Eggs (the less opaque the better)
- Battery operated tea lights (find them at the Christmas Tree Shop or the dollar stores)
- Fun treat to hide inside
(You could follow the original instructions and use glow bracelets/necklaces, but we used the tea lights since they are reusable.)
All you have to do is wait for dark, fill the eggs with your treat and a lit tea light, close them up, hide them (or place them in plain sight) and let your kids go!
We put a jellybean in each, but you could use temporary tattoos, stickers, money, whatever you want. This was so fun (my 2 year old ran so fast around the yard you would have thought she was participating in the Hunger Games) that they didn’t care about the candy at all and just had fun. In fact, we did it two nights Easter weekend!
