Happy 1st anniversary to us! What a year this has been. The website went live on Sept. 1, 2011 after I whipped it together during my maternity leave that summer. My dream was to create a place where working moms could come to find support, resources, inspiration and honesty. One year later I can actually say we have created that place. Dream.Come.True. (Check out the Governor’s awesome proclamation that he sent us!)

I want to first and foremost thank each of my 24 work-mom bloggers. Your posts every day help thousands of women to not feel alone. Your posts inspire, motivate, support and cheer on all of us. It’s a true honor to be let into your lives in such a public way. Thank you for sharing your experiences with the world.

Next up I must thank you, our lovely readers. Thank you for following along on this incredible journey. One year ago if you told me that my site would get a quarter million hits, that I’d be on the Today Show or Good Morning America or the View I would have told you you’re nuts! But in fact, it happened. We have had such an amazing following and are incredibly happy that so many of you can relate to us. A BIG thank you for voting us the #1 Parenting/Family Blog in the state for 2012 – that is an honor that we absolutely cherish.

I also want to give a shout out to our advertisers. Their support allows us to go above and beyond in what we offer our readers. Thank you to the Independent Media Network, The Farmer’s Cow (YAY today is their FIRST day advertising with us!), Bright Horizons, Sow Fresh Organics, Bell Portraits, Mamoga Wellness, Maia Yogurt and Marylou Knull. Looking forward to a long relationship with each of you!

Now on to some fun stuff!

Working Moms on the Move (WMOM)

This past July we launched our working moms on the move program and it’s going really well!! Want to get your workout on and be inspired on a daily basis? Read all the details about the program and sign up to join us!

Here’s Jen rockin her WMOM tech-tee!

Eight of our bloggers (including me) have been here since the beginning. Here are some words from them about how the website has impacted their lives:

“Looking back at the past year, both as a new mom and a new blogger, I guess you could say I got way more than I bargained for! But in like a Neiman Marcus outfit at a Marshall’s price sort of way. Growing together as bloggers, and into true girlfriends has been one of my favorite parts of this experience, not to mention the wealth of knowledge shared and experienced among more than 20 moms!” – Marie Schweitzer

“As a mom who recently completed graduate school and is going through the process or re-joining the workforce, this time as a mommy, being a part of this team of women has been more valuable than I can even put into words. The advice, tips, and shared experiences from the other working moms has truly helped support me through this continuing transition in my life and my family’s life. I am so grateful to be a part of this wonderful community!” – Sarah Bernhardson

“It has been an honor and privilege to be a part of this little community of bloggers, readers, and moms. When I joined on, I never imagined what a profound impact CT Working Moms would have in my life. This community has been a lifeline, a best friend, a shoulder to cry on, and a good laugh all in one. I am so proud to be a part of this amazing site, and wish us many more successful years!” – Dena Fleno

“Having the ability to share my adventures in motherhood in this non-judgmental forum has helped me find my voice. My fellow bloggers are incredibly supportive, brilliant, and honest. They inspire and empower me everyday to do amazing things! They help me be a better mom and woman. It is truly an honor to be part of this group! Love my ladies xoxoxo!” – Mary Grace Peak

“Knowing there are other brave, courageous, hard-working mothers out there makes my daily load a little less heavy!” – Katie Schunk

“My first year as a blogger for ctworkingmoms coincided with my first year as a parent. Exploring motherhood in such a public forum has been eye-opening, humbling, and valuable! I’m really proud of the supportive space we’ve created for working moms in Connecticut.” – Christa Allard

“CTworkingmoms.com has given me a community of women who experience similar joys, difficulties, milestones, and challenges. The blog is a place I can turn to for advice and support. I am so proud to be a part of this community.” – Jillian Gilchrest

Lastly, starting this Monday we’ll be doing our five days of giveaways event to celebrate this important milestone. Make sure to check back because you don’t want to miss this!
