• I have a son who just turned two.  He is, as is my husband, more than I had ever let myself dream of.  They surprise and delight me and fill my heart every day.  They also frustrate the crap outta me =)
  • I have an awesome husband who rubs my feet almost every night.  He is the smartest person I know and I am so grateful to have him in my life.
  • I love “Date Nights”
  •  When I had my son, I was hopeful to not have any interventions.  I ended up with every intervention and a C-section, but it was all good.  He didn’t seem to suffer for lack of vaginal flora.
  •  I nursed my son until he self-weened at 11 months.
  •  I don’t believe in “Nipple Confusion”.
  •  I am an only child and have always hated it.  So, I am desperately trying to give my son a sibling.  Being 40 makes it challenging but we are hopeful. I have had one miscarriage and five chemical pregnancies in the last year.
  •  I am not a hippie mama, but I rarely wear makeup or take off my Birkenstocks.
  •  My husband is a vegan, our son is a vegetarian, and I am an omnivore who founded a vegan cheese company!
  •  I like to cook and make my own stuff: baby food, pickles, jams, juices, nut butters, hummus, breads, crackers, veggie chips, and more…
  •  I like TV. And reading.  But TV takes less brain cells so I tend to do it when I need to just zone out.  Which is basically all the time.
  •  I am lucky to have three amazing best friends.  Two live far away but we have been friends since we were six!  My third BFF lives around the corner from me.
  •  I hate to run out of things so I tend to stockpile.  I have large amounts of toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, toothpaste, deodorant, canned goods, and many other items.  If you run out of something, come on over.  Just be prepared to take home more than you can handle.
  •  I have Crohns.
  •  Fertility drugs, pregnancy, and bad eating habits have made me the heaviest I have ever been.  I am now eating a healthier diet and have started a couch-to-5K training program in hopes of running my first 5K in October.
  •  I used to live in New York and had a great job in Corporate America.  I was a professional negotiator and I mostly negotiated large software contracts.  Because of my career, I think everything can be negotiated and am always trying to find a middle ground everyone can be happy with.
  •  My husband and I left the City and our jobs to seek a more simple life.  We have started our own business and launch our dairy-free NutCheeseTM next month.  More simple?  I am not sure about that.
  •  We love to travel.  When our son was three months we went to Argentina to introduce him to my husband’s family.  We have also been to Canada, Ireland, Scotland, Spain, England, and France with the little guy.
  •  After leaving New York we spent nine months in Austin, TX.  I hated it there. On the one hand it was hell because of the heat; on the other it was purgatory because we finally settled in heavenly West Hartford, CT.
  •  Since my husband speaks fluent Spanish, we are hoping our son will be bilingual.  I am picking up a few words along the way (mi papi chulo es muy guapo).
  •  I lived in West Hartford ten years ago.  I left after 20 months.  I thought it was a difficult place to live as a single woman but dreamed of coming back to raise a family someday.  Well, guess what?  I’m back.
  •  I have gone back to college to finish my degree.  I am taking two classes and am terrified. Absolutely terrified.
  •  I am Canadian and have lived in the US for 20 years.  I will proudly become a US Citizen in the next few weeks. (Party anyone?)
  •  I love having people over.  I love it when people drop by.  I love it when people feel comfortable in my home, grab their own glass, and help themselves to whatever is in the fridge.
  •  I have the mouth of a truck driver.  When I say F*ck, m husband points it out, and then I say, Oh Sh*t!  Not much progress being made there in trying to contain my foul mouth.  It’s a work in progress.
  •  I am a laid back mama.
  •  My son received his own iPod at the tender age of 15 months (I needed my iPhone back)!
  •  My husband, son, and I are all fair-skinned redheads.
  •  The blessings in my life are abundant.  My cup overfloweth, and I try not to yell when it stains the carpet.
