Last weekend we made the difficult, but needed decision to put our house on the market. It was a bitter sweet decision, as we have spent the past five years making memories in our home. The decision has come as a result of a growing family. A two-bedroom 1,200 square foot cape can no longer hold the three of us, particularly all the toys our toddler has acquired. Since last Spring we have submitted numerous offers on houses that just reject us, because our house wasn’t on the market at that time. Sellers typically will not accept an offer with a Hubbard, particularly, on a new listing.
As I am sure many of you can relate to being in a small house with a growing family, I am looking to you for advice on what to look for and be leery of when touring a house. Your experiences and insight into what works for a growing family will be beneficial to us in the very near future. That being said, below is my “wish list” of what I hope to find in our next and final home.
– Three to four bedrooms
– Master bath
– An open floor concept
– Both a family, living room and even a sun porch
– Newer windows
– Gas heat
– Central Air
– Two car garage
– Flat lot
– Hardwood floors
– A decent size basement (ability to finish if need be)
I look forward to hearing your thoughts and opinions!
