You would think from the title this blog is going to be about how stressed I am (which who isn’t as a working mother, LOL) but NO this little piece is going to be about the wretched thing that happens after having a baby.

When you find out you are knocked up and hopefully past the first trimester, your hair and sometimes nails become strong, healthy and shiny. Between the hormones coursing through your body and the horse pill pre-natals, most women’s hair become luscious and satiny.

You look like this when pregnant!

For anyone who knows me they know I have crazy thick hair. I love it, even though sometimes it takes a lot to control and over an hour to dry (I can’t even remember the last time I blew dry my hair). So tack on some pre-natals and I look like a GOD DAMN hair model with extensions.

So the gorgeous extensions follow you around for 9 months. You then deliver your child….and then three months later it starts.

You take a shower and look down and it basically looks like a huge furry animal has collected in your drain.

You brush your hair and realize clumps are congregating in the bristles.

Your child slips on some of your hair, picks it up and goes “Ewwww gross Mommy’s hair”

You wonder, is this normal or did I receive Chemo and radiation in my sleep?

NOPE ladies it is completely normal. Apparently your hair falls out a lot normally but when you are pregnant it goes into a resting phase and it doesn’t fall out, hence the thick hair. BUT after you have a baby it goes back to its regular cycle of falling out.

Sometimes you can get bangs too from this, well more like crazy, freaky half ass, looks like a toddler cut your hair bangs.

DAMN YOU pre-natals, and damn you hormones.

Excuse me while I go to back to shedding now. I’ve got to start looking for some good horse hair extensions….
