Blogger Name: Melanie
Bio: Melanie is not afraid of being vulnerable, which will become painfully obvious if you watch the above video. She is mom to two girls, Mackenzie and Aurelia, and is just transitioning out of the baby phase. Melanie left behind life as a law firm associate in 2013 to open her own practice, representing parents of children with disabilities in special education and other school law matters. Her favorite blogging topics include career and work issues impacting mothers; mompreneurship; feminism and gender theory; choices in childbirth, prenatal care, and breastfeeding; lawyer moms and lawyers in general. Melanie walks the fine line that lies between Generations X and Y, and avoids irony whenever possible. In her spare time, she enjoys sleeping and eating. She also lied, because she is indeed afraid of being vulnerable, but does it anyway because sometimes that’s the best way to be genuine.

Tip for Other Working Moms: ”Don’t believe the hype. Everyone tells you that being a parent is hard, but truthfully, you may find it unexpectedly easy and natural in some ways (and if you don’t, that’s ok too). Don’t set yourself up for failure by listening to “helpful” advice from bitter people determined to remain miserable and make everyone else around them feel the same way.”
