A Giveaway to Help With Meal Planning!

Apr 8, 2013 by

Here’s a scenario: you go to the grocery store on the weekend, list in hand and buy what you think you need to last until the next weekend. You think cutting coupons sounds divine but have no energy/time/desire to really do that so you just hope some of the items you need are on sale. You think you’ve got meals planned out (or maybe you’re just winging it) and then half way through the week, you’re running out of food to cook. You decide to give your kid(s) PB&J for dinner (’cause you have no idea what else to make) and poke around in the kitchen for something you can eat. The next day you begrudgingly go back to the grocery store, trying to fit it in before you pick up your kid(s) from daycare and spend even more money buying more groceries to last the next few days. On the weekend you vow to not go back to the grocery store during the week because you will have planned everything out perfectly, but you end up repeating this pattern over and over and over.

Giveaway Alert! A Chance to See Gloria Steinem, Ashley Judd…

Sep 25, 2012 by

Yes, you read that headline right! We’re teaming up with the Connecticut Forum to get the word out about their upcoming event – The State of Women: Exploring Rights, Roles, Politics and Power. The event is taking place at the Bushnell in Hartford on October 12th at 8 PM. Gloria Steinem and Ashley Judd are just two of the events panelists and we’re giving away two free tickets!

The event will delve into the question – what are the most important issues facing women today?

As moms, you will likely find yourself drawn to issues around motherhood. A lot of topics that have been discussed right here on CTWorkingMoms.com are very relevant to the discussion: paid maternity leave, paid sick days, workplace flexibility, access to affordable and quality health insurance, breastfeeding rights and more.

Their website teaser text reads:

The myth of “having it all” sparks a passionate response from working women and stay-at-home mothers alike.
