Tasty Thursday Meets Tired of Cooking Mom

Our Tasty Thursday writer, Gena Golas is on a well-deserved vacation this week and thus I am guest posting for her.

Whether you are a working mom or a stay at home mom, coming up with ideas for dinner can be the last thing you want to think about. Going grocery shopping and planning out meals week after week can be frustrating and become boring very quickly.

Before becoming a mom this past April, I would spend hours each week preparing fancy, time consuming meals.  From risotto and scallops provencal to homemade bread and granola, this didn’t bother me as I had free time to do so. However, now with a baby at home, the last thing I want to do with my free time is cook – I would rather spend it with her.

Working Moms – do you ever feel tired of cooking dinner? Coming up with recipes? And when you do come up with recipes, are you tired of how quickly you get bored of them? If so, I need – and we all need your help. Please share with us your favorite dinner meals that meet these requirements – fast, simple and delicious!

My go to meals each week are spaghetti and meatballs, grilled chicken with squash and sweet potatoes and a big bowl of chicken salad. They are fast, easy and not a lot of prep work.

What are your favorites? Please share with us and include the recipe in your comments.

  1. The crock pot is my best friend. You can cook praticly anything in it, including lasagna. And many of the dishes you can put together the night before, put the crock pt in the fridge, and just plug it in as you leave for work in the morning, and dinner is ready when you get home.
Also great for making baby food in.
