It’s no secret at this point that a few of us are fans of the YouTube channel Soul Pancake. I’m constantly inspired by their videos and recently found myself struck by one in particular – a video about how expressing gratitude makes us happier people. I totally, 100% agree.
In this video (which is part of a series they are doing called The Science of Happiness), participants write a letter to someone who has helped them and then call them on the phone to read them the letter (while recording it). I cried my way through watching it because it touched me so deeply. It’s just beautiful. Here’s that video if you’re interested:
I was so moved that I decided to do my own gratitude video. Since this site is about moms, I thought it would be fun to write my letter to someone who has greatly influenced my parenting style. Without a doubt, the person I KNEW I had to dedicate this post and video to is my incredible sister-in-law Angela. Holy crap did I win the in-law lottery with that one. While I do try to tell people how much they mean to me and how thankful I am for the things they do, it was a different experience to actually write a letter and read it out loud (while filming it). I was really nervous to be honest but Angela loved my letter and we both felt so happy after our phone call. So here’s my video, yes I start crying almost immediately (I couldn’t help it!). Hope you enjoy it and hope that maybe it inspires you to say thank you to someone in your life who helped you along the way.
Thank you Angela for being an incredible gift in my life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I love you.
Next week some of my fellow CTWM’s bloggers will also be writing posts about gratitude so stay tuned.
