One Liners

Hey Momma- You got a minute?

Yes, just one minute?  I promise that’s all this will take.  How often have you found yourself lamenting over the fact that you have a ton of pictures on your digital camera or taking up space on your iPhone, or little bits of paper scrawled with milestones of your babies?  Or do you look over at a pile of scrapbook papers and empty albums waiting to be filled with the momentos and memories of your baby’s growth, development, first steps, or first time repeating your favorite four letter word?  Man, if you just had the TIME to fill all of these blank spaces in, right?!

Do you have little piles of paper lying around like I do just waiting to be written in a baby book or cataloged on beautiful scrapbook paper?  I’m telling you if I only had a nice quiet day of peaceful serenity, a chilled glass of Pinot Grigio, and a full bowl of Goldfish crackers, this book would be a complete and accurate account of my children’s first years.  But, oh, wait.  Therein lies the problem- I have two children under the age of three, so that quiet day of Goldfish crackers, wine, and stickers for a scrap book are just not reality.

one line a day

Instead, I have this!  A friend of mine alerted me to this amazing baby book- It’s called “Mom’s One Line a Day:  A Five Year Memory Book.”  The idea behind this concept is that busy moms genuinely do not have time to fill baby books with memories, but, they may just have enough time to write one liners in a cute little baby book every day.  Or if not every day, then at least once a week!  I have one for both of my children, and I find myself inspired to jot down a few memories every week.  Even if it is, “Olivia pulls Jake’s hair every morning when he goes in for a hug.”  Or, “Jake insists on calling Olivia “Norah”, because his friend Sophia has a baby sister named Norah.”  I may still have an iPhone full of kid pics, but at least I have a way to capture some of my favorite firsts to look back on!

  1. This is such a clever idea. And timely. I was just thinking that I should write down all the amazing things that happened since Zo started kindergarten this year. This would help me stay ahead of this and cater to my busy schedule. I would feel like super creative memory keeper mom! Thanks Marie!

  2. I love this! I just ordered it! I tend to write a lot of milestones on facebook and thought it I just printed out my status’ my baby book would be finished! Great idea, can’t wait to get it in the mail!
