Treat yo self. {A Foxwoods Review & Giveaway}

Recently, my fellow blogger Jenn and I suffered the excruciating hardship of enduring  60 minute signature massages at the hands of the folks at the Norwich Spa at Foxwoods. Listen to this torture: This beautifully choreographed, full-body, firm massage will release the tension in the entire back and shoulders, leaving you with a renewed sense of well-being.

I KNOW. Can you believe what we go through in the name of sisterhood? Look how tired and sad we are:

Poor unfortunate souls. In pain. In need.

Just kidding, you guys. This. was. AMAZING. Jenn and I walked into the spa and were instantly relaxed, which is saying something since between us, we have four small daughters — and y’all know how relaxing THAT is. We arrived a little early, as suggested, so that we could enjoy the amenities of the spa: a gorgeous pool, sauna, and hot tub. It was enough for me, though, to lounge in my comfy spa-provided robe and sip a beverage in silence.

You might think this sign isn’t necessary, but trust me. If it hadn’t been there, I’d have instantly drifted off into a blissful sleep.

The massage was exactly what I needed. Not as invasive as a deep tissue massage, but deep enough to really work through all the stress and tension. What I loved specifically about the Signature Massage was that it focuses on the back, shoulders, and neck. If I’m honest, that’s all I really care about during a massage. That’s where I carry all of my stress (mentally and physically — I’m looking at you, three-year-old who insists on being carried). We emerged from our treatments like new women. It was glorious.

We got dressed and moseyed through the casino to our next stop… dinner. There are a billion choices, but we were lucky enough to experience Cedars Steak House.

Don’t try this at home, kids.

The contemporary but cozy restaurant decor is perfect for anything from a romantic dinner date or, in our case, a long-overdue mom’s night out. The menu offers a wide variety of beef, poultry and fresh local seafood. It took us several sips of our cocktails and many, many minutes to make our choices. I went with a fantastic french onion soup to start. I can’t even, you guys. It was out of this world.

Cheese, glorious cheese.

For our main courses, Jenn selected the surf and turf (featuring center cut filet and lobster tail with drawn butter) which, hi, the portion? I hope you’re hungry is all I’m saying. I’m all about the meat (what?) so I chose filet mignon with Béarnaise sauce and mashed potatoes and finished up with a slice of cheesecake drizzled with strawberries.

What an amazing evening for us. Pampered and fed delicious food (and wine!) that we did not have to prepare! Thank you, Foxwoods Resort Casino, for giving two tired moms a much needed night out.

And we’re not going to leave you, dear readers, out of this fun! We’ve lined up an incredible giveaway. One lucky winner will receive an OVERNIGHT stay at Foxwoods along with a $100 food/beverage credit and 1 spa service (For the spa service, the winner would have the choice of the Norwich Signature Massage from Norwich Spa at Foxwoods OR a spa service from the G Spa service menu.) A night away from the kids, yummy food and access to an incredible spa – you know you want to enter!!

  1. Let’s see, why do I need this spa package? I work full-time. I am a full-time MBA student and I have 3 children. If you saw me now, you’d think you had just met Quasimodo! Thanks for this great giveaway!

  2. I need a spa day to rejuvenate after a long weekend rejuvenating the lawn. This is just what the doctor called for to remove the aches.

  3. My daughter, who is also my best friend, is always trying to convince me to get a message. I would love to surprise her with a mother daughter one at one of our favorite places – Foxwoods! We will be there next week for the Octoberfest Bingo!

  4. I hope I get picked for some much needed R&R! My husband needs the mental break more – so I will gladly share this with him.

  5. 3 1/2 year old, 4 month old (nursing round the clock) and I work 40 hours a week. Would love the break! My husband and I love Foxwoods! We never went on a true honeymoon since we had our daughter already at the time, but we did spend a night at Foxwoods!

  6. I want this desperately. I am with my kids 24/7 so the opportunity to be away and pampered would be glorious! Please pick me!

  7. This sounds so great. Me and the hubby haven’t gotten much alone time since the baby came along. This is exactly what we could use to reconnect.
