I have a love/hate relationship with Valentine’s Day. I think it’s totally sweet to celebrate love and romance, but spending $100 on a bouquet of roses seems more crazy than in-love! This year, I’m keeping V-Day simple and wrapping up some simple homemade gifts that cost a little more than a Hallmark card. Here are a few ideas!
Sweet Kisses
Layer your favorite candies in a mason jar: Hershey’s Kisses, Red Hots, candy hearts, M&M’s in a jar (put the Kisses on top so the other candy doesn’t fall between them!
Healthy Hugs
Not into candy? Create a healthier version by layering granola, dried cherries, chocolate chips, dried cranberries, and mini-marshmallows in a mason jar.
How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Count The Ways…
Stuff a mason jar with love notes for your sweetheart! Write the notes on slips of red and pink construction paper and fold them up and stick them in the jar!
Massage in a Bottle
Place a small bottle of message oil, a small scented candle, and a gift certificate for a relaxing, at-home back rub in a mason jar.
Movie Date
Fill a mason jar with popcorn and your favorite movie candy and include a gift card for a local movie theater.
Watch Your Love Grow
Fill a mason jar with potting soil and plant a spring blooming bulb (tulip, paperwhite, daffodil) or herb seeds (parsley, thyme, basil all work well). Include watering instructions.
Mani-Pedi Kit
Pick up a bottle of pink and red nail polish, a trial size hand creme, and a nail file and place them on a bed of cotton balls in a mason jar.
Love these ideas! So simple and each would be so awesome to give (or receive!) Happy Valentine’s Day!
