What I’m Thankful For Today (Day 3)

This week I’m challenging myself to notice the good in each day as a way to focus on the positive stuff instead of the tough stuff. So here’s what I’m thankful for today… (I’d love to know what you’re thankful for too!)

  • I absolutely love Morningstar breakfast sandwiches. I’m a vegetarian and recently discovered that Morningstar sells their own breakfast sandwiches in the frozen vegetarian section and THEY ARE SO GOOD. Add a smidgen of ketchup — perfection!
  • I’ve been a bit worried about my neighbors because I haven’t seen them in a while. Thankfully one of my other neighbors let me know that they are OK – phew!
  • I actually wore a dress to work today, I can’t remember the last time I did that. And my co-worker complimented me. (Well actually, she almost fell on the floor out of sheer shock and gushed about how beautiful I looked. Mental note – wear dresses more often.)
  • Said co-worker also told me that my hair looked gorgeous today!
  • My daughter and I had a little frozen yogurt date night and it was so fun just sitting and talking with her. She just turned 5 and I can’t believe how grown up she seems.
  • Special thankfulness shout outs:
    • Arvia – you inspire me and amaze me in so many ways. I read a description of you on Facebook today that someone posted about your upcoming event and it just filled my heart with such joy that I’m lucky enough to know you and to work with you.
    • Denise – How did I get so lucky to call you a friend and also work with you to help lead an amazing group of young women? You are such a positive force of nature and just being around you is so uplifting.
    • Jessica – Thank you for checking in on me today via text. I have no idea how you always know EXACTLY the right thing to text at the exactly right time. Thank you.
    • Kelly – Thank you for the kind thing you did for me recently. I think you’re an amazing person who I admire in so many ways. Thank you for being such a strong advocate for women. Your fearlessness and courage is so inspiring.
    • Maddie – Thank you for taking over the social media for paid family leave now that I can no longer do it. You’re doing an incredible job and I feel so proud each time I see one of your posts! I’m so happy to know you. You are loving, kind, so hardworking and I already miss having you in the office.
    • Catherine – You are my girl. I love and adore you in so many ways. Thank you for always checking in on me. Thank you for all the fun bitmoji texts. You are one of my most favorite people I’ve worked with during my career and I feel so good knowing I always have you in my corner.

  1. First, I started wearing dresses or skirts about two years ago and I now wear them practically every day. Such a little change to my lifestyle that made a HUGE difference to my self-image. Why? Who knows but I like it.

Second, I’m thankful for my daily email from CT Working Moms. I don’t need the email to remind me to read or check in with the site but I simply love it. It comes into my inbox as coming directly from you and even though I know it isn’t a direct email from you it always makes me smile. It reminds me that I have you in my life, that I am part of a beautiful community, and that I get to using my writing to help and support other moms because you brought me into the fold. So thank you!
