I’m the polar opposite of a hoarder. When my husband can’t find something, he often asks if I’ve thrown it away or donated it. It’s too easy for me – the thrift store is on my way to and from daycare and has a drive thru window! I don’t know if any of the stuff

I am 30 years old. It wasn’t that long ago I was living in the 80’s and enjoying my childhood in all its carefree, Tina Turner, high-top sneakers and voluminous hair-sprayed bangs, glory. At least it doesn’t feel like that long ago. Now with 2 young children of my own I have become much more aware
12/18/2009: I met my son for the first time. He was 3 1/2 years old and I was going in entirely blind to his life experiences, previous discipline, capabilities…everything. Now that I have a nearly 3 1/2 year old daughter whom I’ve raised since infancy, I realize how much of a lifetime I had missed.

Book Review: Yardsticks: Children in the Classroom Ages 4-14: A Resource for Parents and Teachers by Chip Wood When I was a teacher, there were certain books that I found extremely helpful when planning curriculum, looking at progress reports, or simply trying to figure out why a student was behaving in a certain way. Sometimes
